We are looking forward to attending the upcoming 2016 BMT Tandem Meetings, February 16-22!
So what exactly are the BMT Tandem Meetings? These are the combined annual meetings of our research program, the CIBMTR (Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research), and the American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT).
Over 3,000 of the world’s leading transplant clinicians and researchers come together at this meeting to share the latest advances in marrow and cord blood transplantation and determine future research studies to improve survival, treatment, and quality of life for transplant patients.
As the world’s largest registry and hub of a global transplant network, we are heavily involved in this meeting. We present education and research, participate in research selection and review, and share new resources to help our transplant centers select donors for patients and overcome financial obstacles that can prevent patients from receiving the transplant they need.
In addition, our foundation awards an annual grant, of the Amy Strelzer Manasevit Research Program, for research to discover solutions to post-transplant complications.
